Cutting-Edge MEMS & FOG-Based Navigation & Positioning Systems

LITEF is a leading developer of navigation and positioning systems for tactical UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), based on cutting-edge MEMS and FOG technologies. Our ITAR-free products are qualified and certified to the highest aviation safety standards, including DO-178C Level A, DO-254 Level A, DO-160 and equivalent military standards.

Designed and manufactured in Germany, our rugged systems are designed to maximize accuracy and minimize SWaP (size, weight and power) without sacrificing robustness or reliability. LITEF products have been supplied to a wide range of clients around the world for six decades, and are continually enhanced to ensure that they set new standards for performance and succeed under the toughest mission conditions.

µIMU

Miniature three-axis MEMS inertial measurement unit

µIMU MEMS inertial measurement unitThe µIMU is an advanced, compact and self-contained IMU that incorporates three MEMS gyros and three MEMS accelerometers in a rugged and hermetically sealed housing. Providing a digital RS-422/HDLC interface, it can be easily integrated into a variety of UAV and unmanned systems platforms, and is ideal for flight control, platform stabilization, and integration into higher-order systems such as AHRS.

The versatile IMU is available with a range of different performance and measurement range options.

FOG IMUs

Long-life cycle IMUs with modular configuration

FOG-based inertial measuring unitOur FOG IMUs incorporate three axes of gyroscopes for rotational measurement and three axes of accelerometers for linear acceleration measurement, as well as processing electronics, power supply and I/O interfaces. In addition to this standard configuration, we can easily create custom designs to meet your specific requirements for UAV navigation, guidance and stabilization. Further performance enhancements can also be achieved via the integration of GPS and GNSS receivers to aid inertial navigation.

These advanced FOG sensors are free of moving parts, ensuring excellent resilience and reliability in high-shock and vibration environments and providing long service lifecycles without the need for periodic maintenance.

LCR-350B AHRS

High-accuracy MEMS AHRS with optional GNSS-aided capabilities

LCR-350B AHRS High-accuracy MEMS AHRSThe LCR-350B is a MEMS-based AHRS (attitude and heading reference system) designed to provide the very best in safety and reliability in a compact and lightweight package. Outputting robust acceleration and rotation data as well as heading and attitude angles, it is ideal for both fixed-wing and rotary UAV platforms. The system can obtain heading reference from an external magnetometer, and can also output hybrid navigation data with the aid of an external GNSS source.

The rugged AHRS is designed to provide enhanced resistance against high-frequency radiation such as radar, and withstands high levels of shock and vibration. It utilizes an ARINC 429 interface and is certified in accordance with ETSO/TSO C-201 standards.

B-290 MEMS Accelerometer

Three-axis MEMS accelerometer for inertial system development

B-290 MEMS AccelerometerThe B-290 is a robust low-SWaP three-axis MEMS accelerometer designed to allow developers to create their own AHRS and INS for aerial, ground and marine robotics. The sensor’s sophisticated electronics include a digital signal processor for force rebalancing, and built-in software performs temperature compensation of bias and scale factor.

The unit is housed in a hermetically-sealed enclosure, and outputs acceleration data via a digital serial interface.

LCR-100 FOG AHRS

FOG-based AHRS with optional GNSS-aided capabilities

LCR-100 FOG AHRSThe LCR-100 AHRS combines three axes of FOG gyro and MEMS accelerometer to provide an advanced attitude and heading reference capability with autonomous gyrocompassing, doing away with the need for magnetic sensors for heading alignment.

The low-SWaP sensor can also accept data from an external GNSS receiver, providing hybrid navigational output for enhanced performance.

The highly reliable unit is ideal for meeting stringent UAV and aviation requirements, with DO-178 B Level A, DO-254 Level A and DO-160 E certifications and a rated MTBF of over 15,000 hours. It also features an easy-to-access digital failure history stored in solid-state memory to facilitate more effective maintenance.

LCR-110 Inertial Reference System

FOG-based IRS with optional GNSS-aided capabilities

LCR-110 Inertial Reference SystemThe LCR-110 is a compact and lightweight inertial reference system incorporating MEMS accelerometers, fiber optic gyroscopes, and external GNSS receiver data and providing heading, attitude and navigation data for fixed-wing and helicopter UAVs.

The system utilizes AAIM (Aircraft Autonomous Integrity Monitoring) technology to provide enhanced confidence in position estimation.

The highly reliable unit is certified to ETSO/TSO-C201, ETSO/TSO-C196a, DO-178 C Level A, DO-254 Level A and DO-160 G, and has a rated MTBF of over 25,000 hours.
