The 1522 is a rugged low-cost industrial-grade surface mount MEMS DC accelerometer designed to suit drone and robotics applications that experience large fluctuations in temperature or extremes of temperature over prolonged periods of time. Available in a variety of g-range options, it incorporates a MEMS capacitive sense element and a custom ASIC designed with an integrated sense amplifier and differential output stage.
Each nitrogen-damped, hermetically sealed Model 1522 accelerometer undergoes individual temperature testing, programming, calibration, and verification within a climate chamber environment to ensure its improved performance in more temperature-intensive applications. Every 1522 is accompanied by its calibration test report, displaying the actual measured bias, scale factor, linearity, operating current, and frequency response performance numbers.
The Model 1522 produces a differential ±4 volts output voltage. The seismic center is located on a centerline through the dual sense elements halfway between them. Any errors due to rotation about this point are effectively cancelled by the internal electronics.
