Phins Compact C3 INS

Phins Compact C3 is a Fiber-Optic Gyro (FOG)-based Inertial Navigation System (INS) for Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) operations requiring reliable positioning and motion reference in constrained subsea environments. Developed from more than three decades of Exail FOG expertise, the system delivers accurate heading, roll, pitch, speed, and position data while maintaining a highly compact form factor and low power demand for extended vehicle endurance. Designed specifically for unmanned subsea platforms, the INS supports stealth navigation missions and provides stable performance during long-duration underwater operations where GNSS access is unavailable.

The system features a genuine strapdown solid-state architecture and subsea-optimized navigation algorithms to simplify integration across a wide range of AUV classes and mission profiles. Phins Compact C3 utilizes common interfaces including Ethernet connectivity and supports open architecture integration with third-party sensors, reducing development complexity and integration costs for vehicle manufacturers and operators. Its scalable platform approach enables software and control system continuity across multiple vehicle configurations while maintaining dependable navigation performance for survey, inspection, and autonomous marine missions.
