STELION Heading (STELION-SHS) provides autonomous high-precision heading and orientation measurements during both daytime and nighttime operations. As an alternative to magnetic heading references, it delivers reliable information that complements and improves GNSS-based navigation, with an optical sensing approach designed for resilience against electromagnetic interference.
Utilizing a CMOS detector with a field of view of 170° during the day and 40° at night, the sensor provides yaw accuracy of 0.1°. Its celestial reference measurements are unaffected by magnetic disturbances, making it ideal for unmanned platforms requiring heading information independent of magnetometers.
Weighing less than 170 g with a power draw of no more than 3 W, STELION-SHS is ideal for a range of UAV and unmanned systems platforms. Its compact plug-and-play design includes RS-422 communications, with NMEA specified for production units. Power supply options of 5 VDC or 12 VDC are available on request.
