UEINet PAC Cube with Linux OS

The UEINet PAC Cube is a highly rugged, ultra-compact Ethernet-based I/O module suitable for distributed data acquisition, control, and SCADA systems. Built on the proven PowerDNA Cube architecture, the module measures 2.7 x 4.1 x 4 inches. Each unit comprises a Core Module and a configurable DNA-series I/O board.

The Core Module includes dual Gigabit Ethernet ports with independent IP addresses that can be used for control and diagnostics or teamed for redundancy. It also houses the PowerPC 8347 series CPU, two USB 2.0 ports (active when using the UEIPAC option), LEDs, timing and trigger I/O, configuration ports, and an internal power supply. The I/O board can be customized using any of UEI’s over 80 DNA series boards based on application requirements. Options are available for flange or DIN rail mounting.

When configured with the UEIPAC option, the module operates as a stand-alone programmable automation controller running Linux or real-time Linux_rt. Users can program in standard C using POSIX APIs and third-party libraries like libxml, and develop in the Eclipse IDE on Linux or Windows via Cygwin. Only one UEIPAC Linux programming toolkit is needed, regardless of deployment size.

The system supports SD card, USB, and SSD storage (Zynq platforms accept only M.2 SSDs and do not support standard SSDs or SD cards). It also supports Simulink deployment via the UEINet SIM option and can function in Modbus TCP or OPC‑UA network modes with corresponding upgrade options. For integrated model-based design, MathWorks Embedded Coder® is supported for optimized C and C++ code generation.
