Using digital beamforming with additional anti-jamming techniques such as adaptive notch filtering and pulse blanking, the systems can be integrated into UAVs and other unmanned platforms that rely on continuous, stable navigation and timing.
Across the range, TUALCOM provides multiple antenna array options to match SWaP targets and operational requirements, with protected bands and performance levels that scale from compact 2-element solutions through higher capability 16-element architectures.
Compact S band tactical data link for UAV communications
The S Band TDMA MESH (ADHOC) Data Link is a compact, low-power solution based on a TDMA communication algorithm, supporting point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links as well as ad-hoc networking. The system is designed for UAV communications requiring relay capability, self-forming and self-healing mesh behavior, and time synchronization.
The data link incorporates an SDR modem and offers optional AES 256 encryption, with FHSS or DSSS techniques available to improve resilience. Data rate can be adjusted up to 10 Mbps and the product line provides multiple RF output power options to match range and SWaP requirements.
The L Band TDMA MESH (ADHOC) Data Link provides a compact TDMA-based communications solution for UAV and unmanned operations where L-band frequency planning is preferred. Designed to support point-to-multipoint links and mesh networking, the system provides automatic network participation and relay capability to extend connectivity between nodes.
The unit supports configurable data rates up to 10 Mbps and can be supplied with optional AES 256 encryption and ECCM techniques such as FHSS or DSSS. Interfaces such as Ethernet and serial connections support straightforward integration into existing unmanned communications stacks.
The Autotracking Antenna System is designed for use with TUALCOM tactical data links, providing long-range communication for UAVs and unmanned systems. The ground terminal can be installed on both fixed sites and moving platforms, enabling half or full duplex bidirectional communications with GPS-assisted auto-tracking.
The rapidly deployable system includes a ground data terminal, geopointing antenna controller and interface unit, pan/tilt unit, reflector antenna, and heavy-duty tripod to support field operations and test ranges.
Telemetry & data acquisition modules in a stackable configuration
TUALCOM offers a flexible stackable data acquisition and telemetry suite that allows each module to be configured in a compact, consistent form factor to suit a wide range of UAV and unmanned platform payload bays.
Telemetry units provide a UART output for monitoring collected data, and modules are interconnected with a proprietary high-speed data bus designed to support low latency and error-resistant data communication. Data acquisition modules can be configured for multiple digital and analog inputs, including high channel-count serial, Ethernet and sensor interfaces.
The TUALRX telemetry receiver is a compact flight test telemetry system designed to receive PCM-FM signals across 2.2 to 2.4 GHz with data rates up to 16 Mbps. For integration scenarios, data is provided over an Ethernet interface and the unit supports a wide range of bit decoding formats.
For field operations, TUALCOM also provides a portable configuration with an integrated display and computing environment to support telemetry monitoring and analysis during unmanned flight testing.
TUALCOM telemetry transmitters are SDR-based, IRIG 106-compatible modules with optional data encryption, FEC and randomizer functions. The transmitters support multiple modulation waveforms including PCM/FM, SOQPSK-TG and Multi-h CPM, with configurable data rates up to 20 Mbps in 1 kbps steps.
Multiple RF output power options are available to match test range requirements, and the architecture can be adapted for higher data rates or different mechanical and electrical constraints for specific unmanned integration programs.
The Flight Termination Transmitter is a programmable ground-based unit that generates FM flight termination commands using assigned IRIG tones. Operating between 390 MHz and 450 MHz, it allows configuration of tone sequences, RF center frequency, and SAFE, ARM, and TERM functions through PC software via RS 232, with optional embedded signal level measurement for transmission feedback.
Designed in accordance with RCC 319 requirements, the compact and lightweight system supports integration with high-power amplifiers for fixed or mobile ground stations. Its rugged construction, MIL-STD-810G compatibility, and reverse polarity protection ensure reliable performance across harsh land, air, and naval environments.
The programmable Flight Termination Receiver is a compact airborne RF receiver and tone decoder for tone-based flight termination systems. It features a programmable center frequency, high-sensitivity superheterodyne architecture, and the ability to decode three or four tone sequences selected from 20 IRIG tones, providing command outputs to onboard termination devices.
Built for fail safe operation, the receiver supports programmable loss of tone detection, low voltage protection, cross strapping options, and signal strength telemetry output. It is IRIG compatible and compliant with RCC 319-14 and RCC 313-01, with MIL-STD-810G environmental qualification for demanding airborne applications.
Integrated termination solution for UAV testing & operations
The Flight Termination System is a fully-redundant range safety solution designed to transmit termination commands to airborne receivers when required. It enables operators to select between redundant channels in real-time, maintaining continuous command capability during testing or operational activities.
The system comprises dual control panels, dual power supplies, a control unit, and an antenna switching unit supporting up to eight antennas, along with associated cabling. This redundant architecture enhances reliability and supports critical range safety operations.
Radar enhancement payload for training & target drone applications
TUALARIA is a compact, 5-18 GHz active radar reflector designed to amplify and retransmit incoming radar signals according to a programmed radar cross-section level. Intended for integration into target drones and unmanned training assets, the system supports C, X, and Ku band operation and can be supplied with RHCP or LHCP spiral antennas.
The unit’s attenuator can be configured via an RS-232 interface, allowing integration teams to match radar return characteristics to training objectives.
The ESM/ELINT Receiver receives radar signals across the 2 GHz to 18 GHz spectrum and generates PDWs (Pulse Descriptor Words) including parameters such as frequency, amplitude, pulse width, time of arrival, and PRI for transmission over Gigabit Ethernet. The system includes four RF input channels to support DF capability, along with an LVDS interface for critical settings and telemetry data.
The receiver is designed for compact deployment on unmanned platforms, with switch multiplexer filtering and user-defined digital filtering to support mission-specific signal environments.
The Compact IFM Receiver receives radar signals in the 2 GHz to 18 GHz spectrum and outputs PDWs containing parameters such as frequency, amplitude, pulse width, and time of arrival. Outputs are transmitted via Gigabit Ethernet, and the device also includes an LVDS interface for critical settings and telemetry data.
The ultra-compact design incorporates advanced signal processing that can generate more than 2 million PDWs per second, with user-defined digital filters and switch multiplexer filters for improved selectivity.
The Radar Altimeter is a lightweight, ultra-compact airborne altimeter providing accurate above-ground altitude measurements. Based on a modular FPGA design with digital signal processing, the system is intended to support low-SWaP integration on UAVs and other unmanned airborne platforms, and includes built-in self-test functions.
