Chess Dynamics has unveiled OMEGA, its most powerful multi-purpose positioner yet, expanding its combat-proven portfolio that includes the Cobra, Viper, and IOTA systems to meet the evolving demands of defense and security customers.
OMEGA represents a major advance in payload handling performance and resilience. Capable of supporting payloads up to 500kg (½ tonne), it delivers exceptional torque, precision, and stability for large and complex sensor systems. This enables operators to deploy the heaviest and most sophisticated payloads used in modern multi-domain operations, including radar systems, multi-sensor pods, and long-range precision surveillance suites.
As defense and security missions increasingly depend on multi-sensor integration and real-time situational awareness, precision positioners play a vital role in maintaining operational effectiveness. OMEGA provides uncompromising tracking accuracy and reliability, even under the environmental and physical stresses of today’s contested battlespace.
Mark Byfield, Managing Director at Chess Dynamics, said, “OMEGA is a direct response to operational needs we’ve seen in the field. With sensor payloads growing complexity and therefore size and weight, our customers need platforms that can deliver uncompromising performance in real-world conditions. OMEGA brings that power.”
Purpose-built for heavy and intricate sensor configurations, OMEGA delivers smooth, precise control in the harshest operational environments. Its rugged design maintains tracking performance under vibration, recoil, and environmental stress, whether on rough terrain, mast-mounted at sea, or deployed in static installations.
Like Chess Dynamics’ Viper system (optimized for mobile platforms with EO payloads up to 60kg), OMEGA is built on an open, modular architecture that simplifies integration with a wide range of sensors and effectors. Platform-agnostic by design, it can be deployed on land vehicles, naval vessels, fixed infrastructure, or transportable systems with equal ease.
