The MiniCHARM-SDI is a compact video processing module engineered for embedded vision applications in size- and power-constrained unmanned platforms. Built around the i.MX8M Plus processor, it combines a multicore ARM architecture with integrated AI/ML acceleration to enable efficient handling of video and image data. The module runs Vision4ce’s FrameWorkx software environment, which extends the capabilities of the established DART tracking system, delivering robust processing performance for real-time analysis and decision-making tasks.
Designed as a self-contained unit, the MiniCHARM-SDI supports dual HD-SDI inputs across a wide range of standard-definition and high-definition formats, ensuring compatibility with diverse imaging payloads. Its flexible interfacing options include Gigabit Ethernet, multiple serial connections, and USB OTG, while an onboard M.2 slot allows for system expansion.
With low power consumption under 10W, a compact 65 x 63 x 18 mm footprint, and an operating range from -25°C to +71°C, the module is well suited for deployment in UAVs and other uncrewed systems requiring reliable onboard video processing.
