Chess Dynamics has formalised a Memorandum of Understanding with CHSnor to provide enhanced in-country support and maintenance capabilities for its customers in Norway.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration centered on training, technical expertise, and lifecycle support. By aligning with Norway’s industrial cooperation principles, Chess Dynamics intends to contribute to national industrial development through structured knowledge transfer and the strengthening of sovereign maintenance capabilities. This move is designed to ensure that mission-critical systems remain operational and combat-ready throughout their service lives.
Under the terms of the agreement, maintenance and support activities will increasingly be conducted locally. This shift is expected to reduce turnaround times and improve responsiveness. Additionally, CHSnor will be positioned to manage local spares inventories, which will bolster regional resilience and provide faster in-service support for operators.
Andy Smith, Managing Director at Chess Dynamics, commented, “This agreement reflects our role as a long-term capability partner in the Nordic region. Our focus is on operational availability and sustained performance in demanding environments. By investing in local training, technical expertise and in-country support with CHSnor, we are strengthening our ability to keep equipment operational and mission ready, while building enduring regional relationships that support future growth.“
The partnership also prioritises operator and maintainer training. Chess Dynamics typically delivers structured training packages alongside its system deliveries to ensure equipment longevity and reliability. The new MOU allows both companies to explore expanded technical training initiatives within Norway, further supporting long-term sustainment across the broader Nordic region.
Morten Eggen, CEO of CHSnor, added, “This Memorandum of Understanding represents more than a formal agreement. It demonstrates close cooperation between Norway and the United Kingdom in delivering sustainable defence capability. By working in partnership with Chess Dynamics, we can build local maintenance and support expertise in Norway, ensuring rapid response, high availability and long-term value for Norwegian operators.”
The framework provides a structured pathway for mutual assessment and market access. Moving forward, both parties will evaluate potential cooperation on future Nordic defence programmes, adhering to established governance and commercial processes to support regional growth.
