COM Express Embedded Solutions
COM Express is a standard form factor for computer-on-modules, which are a subset of single-board computers that are designed to plug into a backplane that provides access to I/O capabilities. COM Express modules integrate CPU, memory, USB, audio, graphics and Ethernet functionality.
The COM Express standard defines 8 different pinout types, some of which have been deprecated, as well as four different module sizes: Mini, Compact, Basic and Extended. Small and ultra-small form factor COM Express modules are ideal for SWaP-conscious drones and unmanned systems.
Rugged COM Express modules may feature wider operating temperature ranges, and enhanced resistance to shock and vibration. They may be designed to comply with military environmental testing standards such as MIL-STD-202G.
