Volz Servos, a developer of actuators for unmanned systems, has appointed Dr. Vladislav Apostolyuk as its new Chief Technology Officer to lead the company’s technical roadmap and product innovation.
The Ukrainian-born aerospace engineer originally joined the organization as Technical Director in 2025. He succeeds former CTO Mark Juhrig, who passed away in autumn 2025 following a long illness. Dr. Apostolyuk brings an extensive academic and professional background to the role, having held significant positions in both Ukraine and Singapore before transitioning to the private sector to accelerate autonomous flight projects.
In 2018, Dr. Apostolyuk joined Lilium as a Senior Engineer for Autonomous Flight, eventually serving as the technical lead for Avionics. His expertise is deeply rooted in his personal history, as his father was an aerospace scientist. Reflecting on his lifelong connection to the industry, he notes, “I have never been not into aviation.”
Beyond his engineering background, Dr. Apostolyuk has played a significant role in shaping the future of the industry through his work with EUROCAE. He held a leading position in eVTOL working groups, where he helped develop the certification standards that govern modern flight projects. This in-depth knowledge of certification is considered a crucial asset for Volz Servos as it develops components for its global customer base.
Volz CEO Phillipp Volz said, “From the very first conversation, Dr. Apostolyuk captivated us with his outstanding combination of experience, expertise and energy. And what’s more: He not only knows the requirements of our customers from theory, he actually created them – playing a leading role in eVTOL working groups with EUROCAE in the development of certification standards. We are delighted having him in our team! in the past months he has proven to be one of a kind professional but also a well respected team member.”
In his new capacity, Dr. Apostolyuk will oversee the advancement of core technologies and ensure that the company’s products meet evolving aerospace requirements for performance and robustness.
Dr. Vladislav Apostolyuk said, “Stepping into this role is both an honour and a responsibility I take very seriously. My focus will be on strengthening our technical roadmap, advancing core technologies, and ensuring that Volz Servos products not only meet today’s aerospace requirements but set new benchmarks for performance, robustness, and innovation. Together with the talented engineering and production teams, I’m committed to pushing our flight control and actuation technologies to – and beyond – the current state of the art.”
