Trillium Engineering has launched the HD45-LV-R, an advanced imaging system engineered to meet the evolving demands of Long-Range and Medium-Range Reconnaissance (LRR/MRR) missions.
Trillium’s HD45-LV-R, is a lightweight continuous zoom LWIR gimbal available at 885 grams, to address the need for high-performance payloads on smaller, mobile defense platforms operating at extended ranges. This solution ensures critical performance without overloading aircraft. Its unique design incorporates a global shutter EO making it ideal for the most challenging applications.
With increased infrared sensitivity, the HD45-LV-R provides enhanced target clarity in low-contrast or complex environments, especially critical for ISR missions conducted at altitude, from distance, or in contested conditions. Its real-time scene tracking and geopointing features support rapid intelligence gathering and situational awareness, enabling operators to maintain eyes-on-target throughout the mission envelope.
Key mission advantages:
- Optimized Size and Weight: At a mere 900 grams, it’s ideal for UAS with endurance-focused mission profiles
- Continuous Zoom LWIR: Full zoom range enhances mission awareness
- Global Shutter EO: Delivers extended-range visual clarity for persistent surveillance and identification from standoff positions
- Rugged reliability: Engineering for sustained use in austere and high-tempo operational environments
Nathan Lanci, Hardware Engineering Manager of Trillium Engineering, stated, “The HD45-LV-R brings the imaging performance of larger systems to Group 2 UAS. It’s built for missions where long standoff distances and extended loiter times demand sharper imagery, continuous zoom IR, and robust onboard processing—all in a sub-2 lb system.”
Whether mounted on tactical UAS flying hours beyond line of sight or deployed for multi-domain operations, the HD45-LV-R offers a key capability edge for LRR and MRR forces worldwide.
