Trillium Engineering has officially launched NyxCore, an embedded artificial intelligence engine designed to process full motion video into real-time, actionable intelligence directly at the tactical edge.
The system operates as part of the broader Trillium Intelligence Stack, which unifies sensor control, the Skylink user interface, and embedded AI into a single operational experience. By performing analysis directly at the point of capture, the platform removes reliance on downstream processing systems and provides low-latency performance for both electro-optical and infrared sensors.
Dr. N. Andrew Browning, CTO of Trillium Engineering, commented, “Modern missions generate high-volume video data across complex environments. NyxCore changes that dynamic by moving intelligence directly to the sensor. Instead of simply watching video, operators can interact with detected and classified objects, maintain persistent awareness, and revisit what may have been missed in real time.”
To address diverse operational environments, the technology is divided into three distinct modules. NyxCore-C focuses on overland missions, offering real-time detection, classification, and persistent tracking of people and vehicles. For maritime operations, NyxCore-D autonomously scans expansive environments to identify and track low-visual-signature targets at long ranges. The third module, NyxCore-X, allows operators to deploy third-party or government-furnished AI models alongside the native system to accommodate specialized workflows.
The platform also introduces several capabilities aimed at minimizing operator workload. These include autonomous scanning and tracking, slew-to-cue functionality, multi-object awareness, real-time geolocation, and chain-of-custody support. Additionally, a non-linear scene analysis tool called BackTrack Nexus allows operators to review and analyze past video events beyond the initial moment of capture.
This edge-based approach allows operators to interact directly with classified objects without interrupting active full motion video operations. The system is available now through Clarity-HD, with direct integration into the HD40-LVV and HD59 series scheduled for Summer and Fall 2026.
