Trillium Engineering has officially released two mission-focused Artificial Intelligence (AI) modules designed to deliver edge processing and live target analytics directly to optical sensors.
Originally introduced earlier this year, the underlying NyxCore system acts as a sensor-integrated AI engine that transforms live imagery into actionable intelligence at the point of capture. The commercial rollout of the NyxCore-C and NyxCore-D modules expands these capabilities into distinct operational domains, targeting land-based reconnaissance and broad maritime surveillance without requiring dedicated external hardware upgrades.
For overland applications, NyxCore-C addresses complex environments across law enforcement, urban security, and land-based search and rescue. Built on the Sightline AiTR architecture, the software goes beyond basic object detection by providing persistent tracking and classification of vehicles and personnel using electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) imagery. The module builds a dynamic geospatial world model in real time, granting operators immediate access to historical movement data and aiding chain-of-custody documentation during extended operations.
Conversely, NyxCore-D focuses on long-range maritime operations where low-signature targets are easily lost against open water. The system employs autonomous scanning routines to identify and follow vessels across EO and IR channels over wide search areas. By taking over continuous visual tracking duties, the module aims to lower cognitive workloads for operators managing shipping monitoring, anti-poaching patrols, and maritime search and rescue.
Both specialized modules operate directly on Trillium’s HD59 series and HD40-LVV systems without additional hardware modifications. Compatibility is also extended across the company’s full gimbal product line when deployed alongside the Clarity-HD platform.
