Chess Dynamics has released its Fire Control Radar and Electro-optical system, SeaEagle FCRO, produced to enhance precision fire control for any service naval gun, with applicability also to other types of weapon.
The SeaEagle FCRO integrates high-performance electro-optical sensors with enhanced fire control radar in a stabilized package, delivering superior targeting accuracy
FCRO’s design provides live geo-coordinates of both air and surface targets to the combat management system of the warship, allowing precision targeting of naval guns and other weapons against air, surface, and shore targets at ranges up to 30km.
Easily maintainable, and compact, the new FCRO is a light solution that has been designed to interface to several Combat Management Systems and is easily retrofittable onto existing platforms, as well as new builds, providing advanced capabilities to all classes of naval vessels.
Mark Byfield, Business Development Director at Chess Dynamics, commented, ‘We listened to naval end users and knew there was a genuine need for a more compact and affordable next generation radar and electro-optical fire control system that was compatible with the target ranges of naval gun calibres between 30mm and 127mm.
“This next generation FCRO brings together proven capability and world class innovation and embodies the established design strategies that already deliver high performance and reliability to end users of our SeaEagle FCEO and EOSS product ranges.’
The system draws upon Chess’s 30-plus years of expertise in delivering high performance surveillance and gun fire control systems. Visitors to the Cohort plc stand will be able to learn more about SeaEagle FCRO’s performance and how it has been designed to address the threat of small, fast, incoming targets and provide precision targeting for guns equipped with modern smart munitions.
