ALTUS LSA, a developer of turnkey Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for civilian and defense applications, is partnering in the FORESIGHT Project and working alongside the PANTHEON Project as part of a coordinated, dual approach to disaster response.
The company is developing drone platforms to support critical missions in complex and high-risk environments.
The FORESIGHT Project focuses on addressing immediate operational needs in disaster scenarios, particularly in heavy-smoke environments and cut-off areas. It deploys heavy-lift multicopter Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) capable of carrying payloads ranging from 40 to 100 kilograms, enabling the transport of relief supplies and essential equipment directly to isolated locations. These platforms are equipped with laser-based beacons and LiDAR to provide situational awareness in zero-visibility conditions.
In parallel, the PANTHEON Project concentrates on wide-area mapping and surveillance. By combining coordinated technologies such as drone swarms and fixed-wing UAVs, the project enables large-scale data acquisition across extensive territories. The data collected supports a Digital Twin, providing a comprehensive overview of damage and potential hazards across entire cities or regions.
Together, these projects address different operational requirements during disaster response. FORESIGHT focuses on heavy logistics, precise equipment delivery and real-time visibility in high-risk, hard-to-access zones, while PANTHEON provides rapid, wide-area intelligence to support strategic decision-making and command.
Through its participation, ALTUS LSA is contributing to UAV platform development to support aerial operations within this Horizon Europe collaboration and has expressed its excitement to contribute its expertise.
