Hargrave Technologies’ microFLUX 2MPi is a bareboard, dual-channel smart power supply designed for seamless integration into higher-current unmanned aircraft system (UAS) payloads.
Engineered using more than a decade of UAS power electronics experience, it provides a flexible, NDAA-compliant, Western-made alternative to custom power supply development. The compact bareboard design enables direct integration into an airframe, placing configurable power closer to critical onboard systems while supporting installations with limited available space.
Power Where It Is Needed
Conventional power architectures often rely on long cable runs between the power supply and the systems they support. By enabling the power supply to be integrated directly into the airframe, the microFLUX 2MPi positions configurable power closer to connected systems, helping reduce cable bulk, wiring complexity, and power loss. The design also provides greater flexibility when packaging onboard electronics and can contribute to improved overall system efficiency.
High Current in a Compact Footprint
The microFLUX 2MPi delivers dual high-current outputs in a compact, integration-ready form factor. Designed to provide power for demanding avionics, servos, and increasingly powerful AI and edge compute systems, it delivers the output required by modern UAS platforms without the size and weight penalties associated with larger power architectures.
Integration for Space-Constrained Platforms
The microFLUX 2MPi is designed for direct integration into avionics stacks, sealed airframes, and other space-constrained platforms. Its bareboard architecture provides flexibility in mechanical packaging and system layout, enabling efficient integration while reducing the complexity of power system design.
Advanced Smart Power Features
Despite its compact bareboard design, the microFLUX 2MPi retains the advanced feature set of the flight-proven microFLUX platform, including:
- High-speed circular data logging
- Error-correcting memory (ECC)
- Per-channel and system-wide LED status indicators
- High-quality, highly efficient Western components
- NDAA-compliant design
Each unit is manufactured in Sydney, Australia. Engineered to be NDAA-compliant from the outset, the microFLUX 2MPi is designed with supply chain resilience in mind.
Part of the FLUX Family
The microFLUX 2MPi is the fifth product in Hargrave Technologies’ FLUX family of modular smart power supplies. The product line is engineered to provide flexible, robust power for a range of UAV onboard systems and is designed to scale with aircraft power requirements.
Future FLUX units are planned to offer additional channel counts and higher power outputs while maintaining the same Western-made and NDAA-compliant design approach.
The microFLUX 2MPi measures 17.23 × 96.4 × 50 mm (0.68 × 3.8 × 1.97 in) and weighs 55 g (1.94 oz), supporting integration into compact UAS airframes and payload bays.
The unit accepts a 15 to 60 V power supply voltage (4S to 14S) and provides two output channels, with digitally configurable output voltage per channel. Each channel supports an absolute maximum output current of 24 A and a rated continuous output current of 20 A.
Designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -20 to 50°C (-4 to 122°F), the microFLUX 2MPi also supports DroneCAN for CAN bus integration.
