OMD Industries is a UK-registered defence technology group and a leading European developer of battlefield-proven drone and unmanned systems technologies, backed by a PRC-free sovereign supply chain. The group provides these solutions through two subsidiaries – OM Defence Systems, a specialized creator of autonomous tactical UAS, and OM Batteries, a designer and manufacturer of custom battery solutions.
OMD’s vertically integrated supply chain offers full production traceability and in addition to powering the company’s own products, is also available to allied OEMs and sovereign manufacturing partners.
Custom Battery Design & Manufacturing
Application-specific battery packs for drones, robotics and unmanned platforms
OM Batteries designs and develops custom high-energy density battery packs for drones, autonomous guided vehicles and other unmanned systems whose requirements cannot be met by standard COTS products.
Each project is developed around the platform’s required duty cycle, geometry and form factor, adapting a wide range of parameters to the customer’s specific application.
Bespoke design capabilities
OM Batteries can tailor solutions to vehicles of any size and to virtually any application and integration requirements. Customization possibilities include:
Cell chemistry and cell format
Voltage and capacity
Continuous and peak discharge
BMS topology
Pack architecture
Mechanical packaging
Custom form factors
Battery enclosure design
Specific battery technologies include:
Lithium-Ion Cylindrical Cells – suitable for configurable battery packs where established cell formats, flexible pack geometry and scalable capacity are required
LiFePO4 Prismatic Cells – ideal for designs that prioritize safety, cycle life, thermal stability and dependable repeated operation
NCM Pouch Cells – pouch-format battery technology that can support complex and unique application-specific pack geometries
Flexible low-volume manufacturing
OM Batteries caters to a wide variety of production requirements, not just high-volume runs. Existing designs can be adapted to new requirements, and the company can also develop a prototype and carry it into flexible low-volume and repeat OEM production. All batteries are designed, tested and built at cutting-edge in-house facilities in Poland.
The company places the utmost importance on quality, with management systems certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. These certifications cover the design, development, production, sale and quality control of battery packs manufactured from prefabricated cells. All processes are thoroughly documented with full traceability of all components, ensuring repeatable quality across production batches. Supporting documentation is provided for tenders and OEM procurement processes.
OM Batteries can also supply cells, completed batteries and battery components directly to customers via air or sea freight, supporting OEMs that require both custom-built packs and repeat access to replacement parts.

X7
Autonomous counter-UAS interceptor system for Group 1-3 threats
X7 is an integrated counter-UAS system that combines autonomous interceptors, distributed launchpads and a ground control station to provide a comprehensive capability for neutralizing Group 1, 2 and 3 aerial threats. Ideal for both fixed and mobile deployments, it detects, tracks and neutralizes unauthorised drones in near real-time using high-speed direct-impact strikes, and can be optionally fitted with a 300g explosive payload.
The X7 drone is equipped with a combined EO/IR targeting sensor, and integrates AI across the entire engagement cycle, including target classification, threat prioritization, interceptor allocation and terminal guidance. The system continuously evaluates target behavior and engagement probability, providing rapid response against individual or massed aerial threats. Autonomous engagement can be combined with optional human-in-the-loop supervision.
X7 is available in three different variants – 5-inch and 7-inch models that take off vertically from a launch pad, and a Heavy model that can be rocket-assisted or launched from a helicopter.
Medium-lift multirotor UAV for infantry support & sensor deployment
Shadow is an automated medium-lift UAV designed for infantry support, ISR, logistics resupply and other modular payload operations. Featuring a folding VTOL multirotor architecture that enables it to be deployed in under 10 minutes from any terrain, it can carry up to 15 kg of supplies, ammunition, sensors, communications relay equipment or other mission-specific payloads.
The aircraft is equipped with daytime and thermal cameras as standard and provides manual, autonomous and GNSS-denied stabilised flight modes. Shadow is integrated with the SAPIENT architecture, enabling interoperability with compatible sensors and decision-making systems. A secure frequency-hopping RF link transfers command, telemetry and payload data between the UAV and portable ground control station, with optional satellite IP connectivity for extended-range operations.
The Shadow UAV provides a flight time of up to 60 minutes and can transport payloads over round-trip distances of up to 30 km. This can be extended to more than 50 km for one-way missions. The platform has been operationally deployed since 2022, completing over 330 missions to date.
Automated decoy drone for tactical deception and air defence saturation
Spectr is an automated decoy drone developed to confuse, distract and exhaust hostile air defence resources. The aircraft presents an overt radar cross-section that demands investigation or engagement, depleting ground-to-air defence assets and provoking hidden systems into revealing their positions.
Ideal for tactical feints, ruses and displays, the jam-proof Spectr can generate multiple false targets to assist unit maneuver and protect higher-value carriers. Its adjustable microwave retroreflector operates across 3-20 GHz, with an adjustable radar cross-section of 1-10 m² for replicating a range of threat signatures.
The Spectr decoy drone provides a range of up to 500 km, an endurance of up to 240 minutes and speeds of more than 120 km/h. Automatic, GPS-based and inertial flight modes are available, and the complete system includes the false-target lens and catapult launcher.
