OMD Industries will demonstrate its custom defence battery and unmanned system capabilities at the DroneX Expo 2026 in London, September 29-30.
The exhibition features OM Batteries, a division specializing in designing, testing, and manufacturing application-specific battery packs from its facilities in Poland. Each pack is tailored to platform requirements and operational roles, with engineering customised for geometry, capacity, discharge performance and system integration. The company works across all cell formats and pack sizes, from small 6S1P configurations to packs exceeding 30 kWh for unmanned ground vehicles.
OM Batteries has access to a range of current and next-generation battery cells, including cells with energy densities exceeding 500 Wh/kg, supporting battery development around different platform and mission requirements. Its Polish facility was built from the ground up for unmanned systems battery manufacturing, with 0.2 GWh of production capacity available and plans to scale to 0.5 GWh. The company has already delivered more than 100,000 battery packs into operational environments, demonstrating its manufacturing experience and ability to supply at scale.
These battery engineering capabilities serve as a core component of OMD Industries’ sovereign European supply chain, supporting internal defence technology lines while supplying third-party OEMs and integration partners. The group’s defence portfolio, managed under OM Defence Systems, includes the Shadow medium-lift multirole UAV for logistics and infantry support, the OMDI-7 autonomous counter-UAS interceptor, and the Spectr smart decoy drone designed for tactical deception. Propulsion and drive systems are provided via OM Motors to complete the hardware suite.
By integrating custom component engineering with operational defense platform expertise, the group bridges the gap between raw battery design and the rigorous demands of active operational environments.
