Shadow is an automated medium-lift UAV developed for infantry support, ISR, logistics resupply and other modular payload operations. Its folding VTOL multirotor architecture allows the complete system to be deployed in less than ten minutes from prepared or unprepared terrain. The aircraft can carry up to 15 kg of supplies, ammunition, sensors, communications relay equipment or other mission-specific payloads.
The UAV is equipped with daytime and thermal cameras as standard and provides manual, autonomous and GNSS-denied stabilized flight modes. A secure frequency-hopping RF link transfers command, telemetry and payload data between the aircraft and portable ground control station. The ground station provides mission planning, flight control, live telemetry, payload operation, video feeds and system health monitoring, with optional satellite IP connectivity available for extended-range operations.
Shadow provides a flight time of up to 60 minutes and can transport payloads over round-trip distances of up to 30 km. One-way mission profiles extend the operating range to more than 50 km. The platform has been operationally deployed since 2022, completing more than 330 missions to date, and can also be integrated with SAPIENT architectures.
