Inertial Labs, a VIAVI Solutions company, has renewed its AS9100:2016 aerospace quality management certification across two U.S. facilities.
The audit was conducted by ANAB-accredited body DQS Inc. under the International Aerospace Quality Group’s ICOP scheme and AS9104/1. The certificate lists Viavi Solutions, Inc. as the central function, with Inertial Labs’ two U.S. sites covered as organizational units.
The renewed certification spans the company’s design, development, and manufacturing activities in Virginia and South Dakota. The Paeonian Springs, Virginia facility is certified for the design, development, and manufacture of position and orientation tracking systems that combine inertial sensors with other sensing technologies, covering its Inertial Navigation System (INS), Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), and sensor fusion lines.
The Rapid City, South Dakota facility is certified specifically for the design and manufacture of high-performance, low-drift IMUs.
Building upon ISO 9001, AS9100 adds aerospace-specific requirements including risk management, configuration control, and traceability. Many aviation, space, and defense programs require the certification from suppliers before qualification.
Originally issued on September 15, 2026, under registration number 31635585 AS0016A, the certification remains valid through September 14, 2029. The validity of the certificate can be checked using its QR code.
Inertial Labs develops INS, IMUs, AHRS, and GNSS-denied navigation solutions. Its product portfolio includes the RESEPI LiDAR, EchoONE, APNT, VINS, IRINS, and CheetahNAV product lines.
