At XPONENTIAL 2025, Inertial Labs showcased the INS-U, a GNSS-aided navigation system for UAVs.
The INS-U provides AHRS and ADC (air data computer) functionality in a compact, IP67-rated package and is particularly recommended for fixed-wing UAVs. Its key feature is resilient navigation: if a UAV loses GPS signal or encounters jamming or spoofing, the INS-U uses its onboard sensors to maintain accurate position data, allowing the aircraft to return safely.
The system integrates a single-antenna multi-constellation GNSS receiver, three-axis MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes, a miniature gyro-compensated fluxgate compass, and dual Honeywell TruStability pressure sensors. Fully calibrated across the operational temperature range, it delivers high-accuracy position, velocity, heading, pitch, and roll data for both static and dynamic UAV operations
