In this video, IMSAR presents Sea Hound I, a high-tempo maritime field exercise conducted March 14-15 near Oxnard, California, focused on validating and advancing real-world maritime surveillance performance under SARON 26.1.
The exercise demonstrated enhanced Maritime Moving Target Indication (MMTI), significantly reduced false alarm rates in complex littoral environments, improved ISAR performance for target identification, and successful demonstration of the SAR Vessel Classifier (LOTUS). The video also highlights persistent surveillance using IMSAR’s multi-mode radars, immediate AIS information, and cross-cue optical operation.
Sea Hound I delivered substantially improved maritime detection, tracking, and classification capability, demonstrating IMSAR’s focus on validating system performance in real-world conditions.
