UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía develops Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) systems with resilience, autonomy and cybersecurity embedded as core design principles.
Operating in cyber-contested and GNSS-degraded environments, the company designs autopilots and GNC architectures intended to maintain mission continuity in the presence of jamming, spoofing, sensor degradation or failure, and communications disruption.
As Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) become increasingly software-driven and interconnected, exposure to cyber threats and electromagnetic interference continues to grow, particularly in interoperable environments where multiple platforms exchange data in real time. In this context, cybersecurity must extend beyond onboard avionics to encompass command, control and ground station elements.
UAV Navigation applies a security by design approach across hardware, software and algorithm development. This philosophy is reinforced through in-house cybersecurity expertise from Cipherbit, another hyper-specialized company within Grupo Oesía. By integrating encryption, data protection and resilience measures directly into system architecture, UAV Navigation supports data integrity, electromagnetic robustness and autonomous operation without reliance on external connectivity.
VECTOR autopilots are engineered to preserve the integrity of critical flight data under conditions that include meaconing, jamming, spoofing, cyber intrusion and communications loss. System architectures integrate high-precision inertial navigation, artificial vision, advanced sensor fusion, Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) antennas and robust GNSS receivers, enabling continued autonomy and mission execution in GNSS-denied or degraded environments.
Hardware-level electromagnetic protection is validated through MIL-STD compliance, while software robustness is supported through proprietary protocols using parity bits and checksums. The command and control station is designed to operate without an internet connection, reducing exposure to unauthorized access.
Through the structural collaboration between UAV Navigation and Cipherbit within Grupo Oesía, avionics and cybersecurity are developed under a shared strategic framework rather than as separate functions.
This integrated approach delivers trusted, mission-ready GNC solutions for civil and defence UAS designed to perform reliably in the most demanding operational environments.
