DJ Byers Security Solutions’ PRESIDIAN mobile intelligent surveillance system is set to receive a major upgrade with advanced display software from Cambridge Pixel.
Designed to work on multiple platforms / host vehicles, the PRESIDIAN uses multiple vehicle-mounted sensors to detect and track targets of interest, including EchoShield, a next-generation cognitive 4D radar from Echodyne, and the powerful Vision Flex camera from OpenWorks.
Central to the upgrade is the most advanced version of Cambridge Pixel’s VSD-C2 software, a flexible operator display that provides state-of-the-art features and an intuitive user interface.
VSD-C2 Advanced supports the upgraded sensors using Cambridge Pixel’s SPx Track Manager software module, which can seamlessly filter tracks and convert formats from a very wide range of sensors.
The upgrade will allow operators of the fully mobile PRESIDIAN to accurately detect, track, and display observations from ground targets to small, fast-moving drones.
With support for a wide range of other devices, VSD provides flexible expansion possibilities including the addition of effectors such as jammers, or the output of Open Standards track data to enable integration with third-party systems.
Cambridge Pixel’s engineering expertise enabled the software to be adapted to the changes in the system hardware specifications that were made during the project. This level of flexibility meant DJ Byers could adjust requirements to develop the most innovative and effective solution for its users.
