Deigned for professional underwater videographers and photographers, the next-generation Boxfish cinematography drone delivers full-frame, 8K video from a depth of 1,000 meters.
Released by New Zealand manufacturer Boxfish Research, the Boxfish Luna utilises advanced imaging from the Sony A7SIII or Sony ⍺1* and a new 200mm precision optical dome. The ROV has been completely redesigned to allow filmmakers to easily and perfectly capture underwater environments with brilliant clarity.
Specifically designed for underwater film production, the underwater drone gives users full creative freedom to capture the incredible diversity of the undersea world, enabling crisp and clear imagery up to 1000 metres underwater. The integration of the latest Sony camera let’s filmmakers record in full-frame up to 8K 10-bit video with precision zoom control — as well as shutter speed, aperture, focus, white balance, ISO and exposure mode directly from the control station.
Speaking of the new release, Boxfish Research Co-Founder Ben King said, “We are defining the next generation of underwater cinematography for natural history and research filmmakers. Our capabilities will open up entirely new environments to high-end filmmaking and exploration.”
