Meteksan Defense has reinforced the capabilities of modern unmanned systems with its AKSON C-Band Data Link, a high-performance, Electronic Warfare (EW) protected communication solution.
As unmanned platforms increasingly dominate operational theaters, the effectiveness of these systems relies heavily on the performance of their subsystems, particularly data links, which govern control, telemetry, and payload communications.
The AKSON system is a Line-of-Sight (LOS), air-to-ground, real-time bi-directional data link engineered for seamless integration across various UAV platforms. It delivers command and control data from ground stations to airborne systems while transmitting telemetry and high-definition video from UAVs back to operators. With a data rate of 10 Mbps and an extended operational range, up to 200 km between the Airborne Data Terminal (ADT) and Ground Data Terminal (GDT), AKSON ensures robust, uninterrupted communication across mission-critical distances.
Key features include AES-256 encrypted communications, advanced anti-jamming mechanisms, frequency hopping, and signal integrity protection to guarantee reliability in contested environments. Its lightweight, UAV-optimized design, modular antennas, and automatic link handover enhance operational flexibility while minimizing SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) constraints. The system supports multiple Remote Video Terminal (RVT) configurations, allowing field operators to access live HD video streams for instant situational awareness.
Designed for harsh environments, all AKSON components, including the modem, RF front-end, antennas, and control units, are developed and manufactured by Meteksan Defense, complying with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 standards. Additional features include embedded GPS, multi-antenna support, point-to-point Ethernet IP communication, and H.264 video compression/decompression.
By combining extended range, secure communication, and resilience against electronic warfare threats, Meteksan’s AKSON C-Band Data Link provides unmanned systems operators with a reliable, flexible, and cost-effective solution to meet the demands of modern warfare.
