Meteksan Defense showcased its Retinar Ground Surveillance Radar (GSR), which is ready for operation, for the first time at the IDEF 2025 Fair, 22-27 July 2025.
The Retinar GSR is the latest member of the Retinar Perimeter Surveillance Radar Family, achieving significant successes both domestically and internationally. It can simultaneously detect slow-moving targets, like crawling or creeping humans, and fast-moving ones, such as vehicles. This makes the technology key for protecting borders and critical facilities.
This advanced radar technology can enhance security forces’ capabilities. It can detect humans up to 12km, has high success classification of targets with low-speed sensitivity, and displays speed, direction, and position information. The Retinar GSR has micro-Doppler spectrogram analysis and is easily integrable with cameras and other sensor systems.
Adil Baktır, Meteksan Defense President, stated, “Thanks to our Retinar PTR product, which has been successfully operating in the field for a long time both in Türkiye and abroad, we have gained extensive experience. Building on this experience, we developed the Retinar GSR Ground Surveillance Radar to meet detection requirements at longer ranges.
“Retinar GSR will particularly strengthen security efforts in border and critical infrastructure protection by detecting slow-moving targets from long distances. It will operate 24/7 in adverse weather conditions such as fog, creating a safe zone in the area. We are excited for the first introduction of Retinar GSR at IDEF 2025 and look forward to it quickly becoming operational in the field, adding new successes to the Retinar family.”
