Southwest Antennas has joined the HEICO Corporation family as part of the parent company’s Electronic Technologies Group.
Under the terms of the agreement, HEICO has acquired a majority ownership interest in Southwest Antennas (SWA), a firm specializing in high-performance RF and microwave antennas. Ben Culver, the CEO and founder of SWA, will retain a minority stake and continue to lead the organization.
Founded in 2005, Southwest Antennas focuses on rugged, mission-critical solutions for military, public safety, and unmanned systems. Its technical catalog includes antennas operating at frequencies up to 8.5 GHz, alongside complementary hardware such as mounting systems, block downconverters, low-noise amplifiers, and filter modules.
Ben Culver, President and CEO of Southwest Antennas, said, “Joining the HEICO family represents an exciting new chapter for Southwest Antennas. HEICO’s long-term approach, strong culture, and commitment to innovation align closely with our values. This partnership enhances our ability to invest in new technologies and better serve our customers.”
HEICO leadership cited Southwest Antennas’ technical expertise and established reputation in the antenna market as primary drivers for the partnership. By joining the Electronic Technologies Group, SWA gains access to HEICO’s broader operational support and strategic resources. Despite the change in ownership structure, the company intends to maintain its current team and customer-focused operational model.
The transition marks a growth milestone for the California firm, which designs products specifically for demanding operational environments where reliability is a priority. SWA will continue its development of innovative RF and microwave solutions from its existing headquarters.
