Neousys Technology has introduced the NRU-160-FT series, a compact, fanless edge AI computer powered by the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX/Nano.
The system is designed with a flattop heatsink for optimized thermal dissipation when mounted inside sealed or waterproof enclosures, making it suitable for applications such as smart agriculture vehicles, outdoor Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), and industrial inspection systems. The NRU-160-FT is intended for cabinet installation where space is limited and active cooling is not an option. Its low-profile chassis measures 199 x 136 x 49 mm.
The computer is engineered to deliver non-throttling performance at full load for both the CPU and GPU in 25W TDP mode, maintaining an operating temperature of up to 70°C when mounted on an aluminum enclosure or plate. It supports a wide fanless operating temperature range from -25°C to 70°C and includes features specifically for in-vehicle and in-robot use.
Kaichu Wu, Product Manager at Neousys Technology, commented, “The flattop heatsink design of the NRU-160-FT was created to address a specific use case: in-cabinet deployment. It can transform the sealed metal enclosure from a thermal burden into an extension of the heatsink. By combining the high performance-per-watt of the NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ NX with the flattop heatsink, the NRU-160-FT delivers a robust Edge AI solution for scenarios where sealed enclosures are inevitable, such as smart agriculture, outdoor AMRs, or factories exposed to dust and water.”
The NRU-160-FT series offers two main variants. The NRU-161V-FT supports up to six GMSL2 automotive cameras via FAKRA Z connectors. The NRU-162S-FT model features four Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) Gigabit Ethernet ports with rugged M12 connectors.
