Kraken Robotics has partnered with Verlume to integrate advanced subsea batteries and energy management systems, delivering scalable power solutions for offshore and defense applications.
Through this collaboration, Kraken has selected Verlume as its systems integration partner, combining Verlume’s Axonn® intelligent energy management system with Kraken’s SeaPower™ subsea batteries to address complex offshore power challenges.
The partnership applies SeaPower™ military-grade battery technology within the offshore energy sector, providing scalable and reliable power solutions that enable subsea autonomy and support the transition to low-carbon offshore operations across defense, energy, and robotics markets.
Patrick Paranhos, Vice President of Power Systems at Kraken Robotics, commented, “While Kraken Robotics delivers SeaPower™ batteries to defence clients worldwide for uncrewed underwater vehicles, we have not yet provided solutions for other applications like energy storage for offshore energy operations or subsea resident power stations.”
The collaboration is intended to deliver dependable, efficient, and scalable power systems capable of stabilizing offshore energy networks, enhancing subsea autonomy, and supporting low-carbon operations in defense, oil and gas, renewables, and offshore robotics. It also extends the application of SeaPower™ battery technology into offshore energy use, broadening the scope of existing deployments.
Additionally, the agreement allows for large-scale manufacturing and supply of SeaPower™ batteries from Kraken’s production facilities in Rostock, Germany, and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, supporting faster delivery and distribution to markets in the UK, Europe, the United States, and Canada.
