Kraken SAS is a highly versatile miniature interferometric synthetic aperture sonar that delivers industry-leading constant high resolution across the entire swath out to ranges of 200 meters per side, along with simultaneous bathymetry. The system features a modular array with length options of 60, 120, and 180 cm, allowing it to be integrated into UUVs of almost any size, and is available with depth ratings of 300, 1000 or 6000 meters.
The system processes raw sonar data into SAS tiles in real time, and stores these on the internal hard drive or optional removable data pod. This capability allows for embedded Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and data exfiltration capabilities of processed SAS data and contacts, and significantly reduces post-mission analysis requirements.
Kraken SAS provides surveyors with impressive boosts in efficiency, and can reduce missions durations by up to three times.
