Silicon Sensing will present its latest generation of rugged MEMS-based inertial sensors at ION GNSS+ 2025, held from 8 to 12 September in Baltimore, MD.
The new silicon MEMS technology delivers significant improvements in bias instability and angle random walk, offering inertial performance comparable to larger, heavier, and more costly fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) systems. At the same time, it retains the compact size, low weight, and power efficiency typical of MEMS-based sensors.
These advancements support accurate and reliable inertial measurements in applications where traditional systems are limited by size, power availability, or environmental conditions, such as ultra-compact platforms, power-constrained systems, and long-duration operations in demanding environments.
ION GNSS+
ION GNSS+ is among the largest global conferences focused on GNSS technology, products, and services. The 2025 event will gather experts from around the world in positioning, navigation, and timing to present research, highlight new technologies, address current policies, showcase products, and share insights across the industry.
Products on display at ION GNSS+ include:
DMU41
The DMU41 is a tactical-grade, 9-DoF IMU delivering disruptive performance with a power consumption of 1.8W, bias instability of 0.1°/hr and 0.015mg, and random walk figures of 0.02°/√hr angular and 0.05m/s/√hr linear, operating from -40°C to +85°C.
CRH03
The CRH03 is a compact, rugged stand-alone gyro offering bias instability between 0.03° and 0.1°/hr, and angular random walk from 0.005°/√hr, with reliable performance across a -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
Gemini®
Gemini is a surface-mounted dual-axis accelerometer family with five dynamic range options (±0.85g to ±96g), velocity random walk of 0.07m/s/√hr, and compact dimensions starting at 10.4 x 6.0 x 2.2mm, operating from -40°C to +125°C.
PinPoint®
PinPoint is an ultra-compact gyro measuring just 6.3 x 2.7 x 5.5mm, with bias instability between 12°/hr and 80°/hr and angular random walk ranging from 0.2° to 0.8°/√hr, suited for applications operating between -40°C and +85°C.
CMS300
The CMS300 combines a MEMS gyro and dual-axis accelerometer in a 10.4 x 6 x 2.2mm package, with angle random walk of 0.40°/√hr, velocity random walk under 0.05m/s/√hr, and bias instability of 10°/hr for the gyro and under 0.05mg for the accelerometer, rated for -40°C to +125°C operation.
DMU11
The DMU11 is a lightweight, low-cost 6-DoF MEMS IMU with angular random walk of 0.40°/√hr, linear random walk under 0.05m/s/√hr, and bias instability below 10°/hr and 0.05mg, operating within a -40°C to +85°C range.
