Dronetag has launched the Dronetag Scout, a Remote ID receiver that not only detects drones but also pinpoints pilot locations, giving operators the ability to approach and defuse potential conflicts.
By capturing both drone and pilot positions along with flight telemetry data, Dronetag Scout provides a clear, actionable view of airspace activity for security-sensitive environments.
With detection ranges reaching 10 km (6 miles) using omni antennas and up to 25 km (15 miles) with directional antennas, Dronetag Scout is suited for airports, critical infrastructure, and high-security areas where early situational awareness is essential.
Multiple units can be networked to cover entire cities or large facilities, ensuring scalable protection.
Dronetag Scout offers four configurable modes to match different operational needs:
- Sensor Mode – Operates as a standalone Remote ID receiver, outputting raw data to user infrastructure without cloud connectivity.
- Sensor Mode+ – Adds drone model identification, enhanced data interpretation, device management tools, and dedicated support while remaining self-hosted.
- Cloud Mode – Streams detections directly to the Dronetag Cloud for real-time monitoring through web or mobile apps.
- On-Premise Mode – Keeps all processing and visualization within a local network, with no external data transmission.
The Baseline Configuration includes dual omnidirectional antennas, with optional directional antennas for focused coverage in complex environments. A 4G/LTE modem upgrade allows mobile network connectivity for installations without wired infrastructure.
Unlike solutions that only detect drones, Dronetag Scout’s dual-radio system also determines the pilot’s position or take-off location. This feature supports timely, targeted engagement with the source of a flight, making it valuable for law enforcement, security teams, and airspace managers seeking to resolve incidents on the ground.
Built in an IP67-rated enclosure with integrated heating and passive cooling, Dronetag Scout is engineered to operate year-round in harsh outdoor conditions. Pole or wall mounting, Power over Ethernet, and lightning protection options make installation straightforward and adaptable.
Applications include:
- Public safety and law enforcement
- Airport and critical infrastructure protection
- Event security and political gatherings
- Industrial and energy facility monitoring
- Wildlife and environmental protection
By combining long-range drone detection with precise pilot location identification, Dronetag Scout delivers a complete approach to airspace security, enabling faster and more effective decision-making.
