autonomous navigation system

Maritime Robotics’ cutting-edge Autonomous Navigation System combines advanced sensors with intelligent processing and computation capabilities to provide uncrewed vessels with safer navigation and enhanced operational performance. It is composed of three core components:

Vehicle Control System & Remote Control Center – enables uninterrupted real-time remote control and monitoring of the vessel from anywhere, and provides up-to-the-minute information to ensure optimal safety and efficiency

SeaControl – powerful onboard control system that manages all operational aspects from navigation to system diagnostics

SeaSight – 360-degree situational awareness and collision avoidance system that provides real-time detection and assessment of environmental conditions and potential hazards

The Autonomous Navigation System can be integrated into a wide range of different vessels, and can be tailored to specific autonomy requirements from human-in-the-loop to fully autonomous.

Otter USV

The Otter is a highly portable catamaran USV that is ideal for bathymetric and hydrographic surveying, scientific data collection, environmental monitoring, and surveillance. With a lightweight and modular construction, it can be quickly assembled or disassembled by a single operator and easily transported in a small van.

The fully-electric and eco-friendly vessel is powered by up to four easily-interchangeable battery packs, delivering a best-in-class endurance of up to 20 hours at 2 knots. It can be equipped with a wide variety of sensors and auxiliary equipment to fulfil a range of requirements.

Mariner USV

The Mariner is a durable mid-sized USV that features a robust polyethylene hull and a combination of water jet propulsion and bow thrusters for precise maneuverability. Capable of both autonomous and remote-controlled operations, it can be deployed and recovered from shore, or from a vessel with an optional custom LARS (Launch and Recovery System) cradle.

The vessel can be integrated with a diverse range of payloads, and can also be equipped with a moonpool elevator or fixed gondola for efficient and high-quality data collection.

Mariner X USV

The Mariner X is a versatile USV with a high-density polyethylene construction that can withstand harsh sea conditions. Featuring a customizable back deck that can carry over a ton of payload, it can undertake long-endurance missions of up to 25 days without refuelling.

The vessel provides two actuated moonpools and two dedicated fixed-sensor positions, as well as a railing system that allows for easy mounting of custom payloads including ROV and AUV LARS, generators, winches and more.

USV Situational awareness & collision avoidance

The SeaSight situational awareness and collision avoidance system has been developed in close collaboration with leading academic institutions, utilizing multiple low-light HD cameras, a 360-degree LiDAR scanner and other sensors to provide accurate hazard detection and obstacle navigation even under poor visibility conditions.

The system reliably detects virtually anything that could potentially interfere with the safe operation of the USV, including other vessels, buoys, the shoreline, animals, and sea plants.

Real-time data acquisition software for USV

SeaCapture is a powerful software suite that enables real-time logging and processing of data from a wide range of USV payloads, including single- and multibeam sonars, LiDAR scanners, navigation systems, and CTD and SVP sensors. It works seamlessly with Maritime Robotics’ USV control station to provide a unified interface for survey planning, payload control, and data acquisition.

Mission planning capabilities include auto-line data generation based on swath coverage, as well as automated SVP casts. Sonar data is visualized in real time, allowing you to monitor and control the swath for maximum quality and efficiency.
