See how RCV Engines technology works. The valve rotates 360 degrees across the 4-stroke cycle and provides a near perfect combustion system.
All of RCVs DF (Dual Fuel) range uses the same valve system whether air or liquid cooled, single, twin or four cylinders.
Many advantages to the technology as they are low maintenance with long MTBO, have excellent power to weight ratio and extremely fuel efficient.
The superb combustion characteristics mean its capable of switching between heavy fuels and standard gasoline without mechanical changes and with no difference in performance. This is all managed through the fuel maps with up to 4 stored in the ECU and switched through CAN.
RCV’s engines are now found in a variety of platforms: Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) including fixed winged, rotary winged and quadcopter UAVs. In addition, they have been used marine based unmanned surface vehicles (USV) and as part of a hybrid motorcycle system.
Many applications are switching to electric however suffering with range issues. As a result, many platform developers are looking to utilise hybrid systems. The easy starting characteristic plus liquid cooling versions, makes RCVs DF engines a perfect choice with several systems now in operation worldwide.
