This video from Oceanbotics, a developer of professional Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), demonstrates how to remove and disassemble a thruster on the SRV-8X underwater ROV.
Intended for Search and Rescue (SAR) teams, military divers, infrastructure inspectors, and commercial operators, the step-by-step field guide covers the full maintenance process. The video shows how to remove the thruster from the vehicle, take off the nozzle and nosecone, loosen and remove the shaft collar, and separate the propeller from the rotor. It also demonstrates cleaning debris from the components, re-lubricating the rotor with Aquashield, and reassembling the thruster by reversing the procedure.
The required tools include 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, and 3mm hex keys, a #1 Phillips-head screwdriver, Aquashield lubricant, and a clean cloth or wire brush.
