Maricopa County Sheriff Jason Gilchrist shares how Oceanbotics is supporting the department’s Remotely Operated Vehicle Unit (ROV-U) as they oversee one of Arizona’s busiest lake regions.
With responsibility for nine lakes, including Lake Pleasant, the team manages a demanding environment marked by heavy seasonal traffic, emergency incidents, and ongoing search and recovery operations.
Their ROV-U program, the first of its kind in the county, now deploys Oceanbotics’ underwater inspection technology 40 to 50 times each year. The system has become a core part of the unit’s response capability, helping the team enhance safety, efficiency, and readiness on the water.
