HOBBYWING has outlined the temperature monitoring functionality of its H15MD and H15MD Plus coaxial integrated propulsion systems.
The systems feature dual-channel temperature monitoring for both motors and Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs), with real-time temperature data transmission via CAN protocol.
When deployed on a 16-propeller octocopter UAV, the system enables synchronized 32-channel temperature monitoring across 16 motors and 16 ESCs. According to HOBBYWING, this delivers full-system temperature detection capability.
Flight Controller Compatibility
The temperature monitoring feature is compatible with the ACFLY X9 and VK V10-PRO flight controllers. By upgrading to the latest flight controller firmware, users can enable two-stage over-temperature monitoring with high-visibility lighting indications.
HOBBYWING states that future firmware updates may also support coordinated voice prompts and vibration alerts.
Safety Protection Workflow
According to HOBBYWING, the system establishes a safety protection workflow that progresses from early-stage warnings to critical over-limit alarms.
Temperature Thresholds
Motor
- Safe operating temperature: <150°C
- High-temperature warning (orange): 130–150°C
- High-temperature alarm (red): ≥150°C
ESC
- Safe operating temperature: <105°C
- High-temperature warning (orange): 90–105°C
- High-temperature alarm (red): ≥105°C
