HOBBYWING has expanded its UAV propulsion lineup with the introduction of the V13823 and V13828 industrial-grade motors designed for long-endurance Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) aircraft operating under severe environmental conditions.
The new motors target medium-to-large VTOL platforms across diverse industrial sectors, including emergency rescue, logistics, hydrological monitoring, coastal patrol, and land surveying. Both models are engineered to balance a lightweight physical footprint with high continuous output during vertical takeoff, rapid maneuverability, and hovering phases.
In terms of raw output, the V13823 weighs 2,160 g and generates a maximum thrust of 70.6 kg, yielding a thrust-to-weight ratio of 32.5. The larger V13828 weighs 2,465 g and delivers up to 81.6 kg of maximum thrust.
To minimize aerodynamic drag and power draw while cruising, the motors incorporate Intelligent Propeller Control (IPC) technology. When integrated with the XRotor Pro H300A 24S BLDC IPC G3 Electronic Speed Controller (ESC), operators can precisely program the stop position of the propellers. Parking the blades inline with forward airflow significantly cuts passive energy consumption during wing-borne flight, extending mission range.
Internal construction relies on heavy-duty components rated for sustained thermal and mechanical strain. The core features 0.2 mm low-loss silicon steel iron-core punchings to reduce electrical loss, high-grade arc-shaped magnets for increased torque output, and 220°C high-temperature enameled wire to guard against thermal aging under prolonged heavy-load climbs.
For environmental shielding, a dual-layer steel mesh structure coats the motor bracket and bottom cover. This mesh works alongside large exhaust ports and an internal high-efficiency centrifugal cooling fan to purge heat while preventing dust and grit ingress.
The propulsion units have completed a battery of industry-standard reliability evaluations. Testing protocols include IP45 dust and water resistance verification, extreme voltage and temperature exposure, mechanical stress testing, combined temperature/humidity vibration testing, and a 1,000-hour laboratory fatigue life trial. For offshore wind farm maintenance, maritime search and rescue, and coastal inspection tasks, the motors are further rated against salt spray corrosion via a 48-hour neutral salt spray test.
System integration is facilitated by standardized installation interfaces and dedicated propeller adapters, allowing compatibility with a broad spectrum of conventional industrial propellers across varying payload configurations.
