Next-generation hybrid underwater vehicle with ROV, AUV & diver propulsion modes

The FUSION offers an innovative approach to underwater vehicle design, and is the first platform on the market to seamlessly combine tethered ROV, untethered AUV, and diver propulsion capabilities in a single platform. Developed with the operator foremost in mind, it provides a simple and intuitive user interface and is highly suited for a wide variety of missions.

Thanks to a cutting-edge sensor suite and efficient mechanical design, FUSION’s automation and control system ensures the utmost in stability and ease of operation. The platform is powered by high-density Li-ion modules and high-efficiency brushless DC thrusters with quick-release outrunner motors for maximum reliability.

FUSION operates from an extremely small expeditionary footprint due to its battery power, and is compact and lightweight enough to be transported as excess checked baggage

Versatile operating modes and payload capabilities

FUSION has the unique ability to operate in three different modes to suit a range of mission requirements.

FUSION Tethered ROV

Tethered ROV – provided with a low-drag 500-meter tether as standard, FUSION is also available with 1000- or 2000-meter options. These longer cables are fiber optic and maintain the same small diameter. Both versions are strong enough to engage in recovery of underwater objects and even drowning victims.

FUSION Untethered AUV

Untethered AUV – missions can be preprogrammed via the intuitive user interface, including complex operations that go far beyond simple grid-pattern surveys. A variety of high-resolution data can be captured, including sonar and video.

FUSION Diver Propulsion Mode

Diver Controlled Vehicle – with an easily-attached module, FUSION can be converted into a diver controlled vehicle. In this mode the vehicle can assist and tow the diver while enabling the operator to utilize the onboard sensors for navigation, imaging and data collection while using the vehicle’s thrusters for underwater traversal. In the diver controlled configuration the vehicle can also be operated completely subsurface as a fully submersed diver controlled ROV.

The versatile vehicle includes a modular payload bay and skids that can be equipped with a variety of sensors and equipment. Options include:

  • 5kg and 10kg releasable payload containers with integrated buoyancy modules
  • Various third-party EOD disruptor skids
  • 450kHz and 900kHz Side Scan Sonar modules
  • Two-function grabbers, up to 3kg lift and continuous rotation available
  • Dual five-function manipulators with included control master arms
  • 360 Scanning Sonar

ROVThe FUSION package comes with a choice of controller, both engineered with ergonomics and usability in mind and pre-installed with the user interface software.

HMI Compact – small form factor handheld controller that can be operated while standing or sitting. It features a high-brightness touchscreen, single-axis and 3-axis joysticks, and a ruggedized housing built to withstand punishing marine conditions.

Applications

FUSION’s hybrid ROV, AUV and diver-controlled operating modes support a wide range of military, maritime security and underwater search missions. Its integrated sonar, imaging and navigation systems provide actionable subsea intelligence while reducing the need to deploy divers in hazardous environments.

Underwater Surveillance

FUSION enhances underwater domain awareness through autonomous surveillance, high-resolution sonar imaging and close-range visual inspection. The vehicle can survey ports, subsea infrastructure and strategically important areas, detecting suspicious activity and reacquiring targets even in low-visibility conditions.

Border Control & Customs

Border and customs agencies can deploy FUSION for vessel hull and ballast tank inspections, port surveillance and submerged evidence recovery. Its imaging sonar, HD camera and manipulator options help identify contraband, concealed packages and potential security threats without exposing divers to unnecessary risk.

Coast Guard Operations

FUSION supports Coast Guard missions including port security, vessel inspection, navigation-hazard detection, environmental monitoring and search and rescue. Rapid deployment and integrated sonar and video provide real-time underwater intelligence across rivers, harbours and open-ocean environments.

Search & Recovery

Advanced navigation, imaging sonar, side-scan sonar and high-resolution video enable FUSION to locate victims, vehicles, aircraft, evidence and other submerged objects. The platform accelerates time-critical searches in low visibility and hazardous currents while minimising diver exposure.

Mine Countermeasures

FUSION supports the search, identification and neutralisation of underwater mines and unexploded ordnance. Integrated sonar enables precise target location, while compatibility with the Titan Disruptor allows EOD teams to intervene remotely and maintain a safe standoff distance.

Special Operations Forces

Compact, portable and battery-powered, FUSION supports covert underwater reconnaissance, target acquisition and intervention missions. High-resolution sonar, USBL positioning and multiple operating modes provide SOF teams with accurate situational awareness while limiting personnel exposure in hostile environments.
