Sion Power™ is an innovative U.S.-based developer and manufacturer of advanced lithium-metal battery solutions for drones and autonomous systems. Designed to power the most demanding defense missions, the company’s Licerion® technology provides more energy at lower weight than conventional lithium-ion batteries, enabling unmanned platforms to fly farther, stay on station longer, and carry more payload.

Sion Power is NDAA 842-compliant, with Licerion’s graphite-free anodes designed to reduce reliance on critical materials from foreign sources.

Licerion Strike™

High-power single-discharge cells for expendable UAS missions

Licerion Strike™ cells are optimized for rapid deployment and one-way UAS missions, combining low weight with a maximum continuous discharge rate of 6C. The high-power cells are ideal for applications with aggressive maneuver profiles, including tactical strike and high-speed reconnaissance.

The Strike cell is available in 20 or 30 Ah capacity variants, featuring lightweight profiles of 165 and 190g respectively. This innovative technology enables drones to travel twice the distance, achieve more than double the time on station, or increase payload capacity. For some mission profiles, the cells can enable up to ten times more time on target, bringing previously impractical missions within reach.

Thanks to the longer operating time and fewer required battery changes, Licerion Strike™-powered UAS deliver significant boosts in productivity while reducing logistical burden.

Licerion® Echo

Rechargeable lithium-metal cells for reusable & long-endurance unmanned systems

Licerion Echo is a rechargeable cell platform designed for reusable UAS and repeated operations. It is optimized for energy retention over extended discharge periods, making it ideal for applications such as long-endurance fixed-wing ISR, maritime surveillance, and battlefield logistics.

Echo’s chemistry and cell architecture are tuned for stable performance and low capacity fade across repeated charge and discharge cycles. 20 or 30 Ah capacity models are available, weighing 165 and 190g respectively.

Manufacturing & Scalable Supply

Sion Power develops, manufactures, and tests Licerion cells at its operational 115,000-square-foot facility in Tucson, Arizona, supporting domestic defense requirements. The facility offers 10–20 MWh of domestic capacity, with a planned path to 100–200 MWh and ultimately 1 GWh. Sion Power is ramping toward higher-scale manufacturing, with the ability to progress from hand-built cells to larger production volumes as customer demand grows.

The company offers flexible supply and integration options for customers developing new unmanned platforms or incorporating lithium-metal batteries into existing systems.

Direct Cell Supply: Licerion cells can be purchased directly for integration into customer battery designs.

Modules & Packs: Sion Power can provide modules for integration into existing systems, with Strike and Echo module and pack concepts addressing different mission requirements.

Third-Party Pack Partners: The company can work through third-party pack partners when customers have a preferred battery pack supplier.
