ASELSAN is highlighting its expanding portfolio of satellite and space capabilities at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2026 in Antalya, 5-9 October, where the company is serving as anchor sponsor.
Operating under its “From Chip to Constellation” vision, the company is demonstrating capabilities across the entire space value chain. Leveraging decades of experience in defense electronics, ASELSAN’s end-to-end solutions now encompass everything from chip development and space-qualified electronics to satellite systems, platforms, payloads, ground infrastructure, and user terminals.
Central to the showcase at IAC 2026 are three key satellite programs spanning different orbits and mission profiles. Highlighting its LEO communications portfolio, ASELSAN introduced ASTRALINK, a Low Earth Orbit communications satellite developed under the Low Earth Orbit Satellites and Military 5G/6G Communications System Project. Designed to provide secure, uninterrupted, low-latency, and high-capacity communications beyond the line of sight of terrestrial networks, the project targets a scalable mass-production rate of up to four satellites per month to strengthen Türkiye’s indigenous communications infrastructure.
In geostationary orbit, the company showcased its contribution to TÜRKSAT-6A, which incorporates ASELSAN-developed communication payloads and satellite technologies. The engineering experience gained from TÜRKSAT-6A is currently driving ongoing technology development for Türkiye’s next-generation GEO satellite, TÜRKSAT-7A.
For space-based earth observation, ASELSAN highlighted its role in GÖKTÜRK-3, Türkiye’s Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite program designed to provide day-and-night imaging under all weather conditions. Within this multi-stakeholder program, ASELSAN is responsible for developing the SAR imaging radar, high-volume secure communication data links, and the platform’s primary security unit.
Ahmet Akyol, President & CEO of ASELSAN, said, “Our experience as a defense electronics company has given us a strong foundation to develop technologies for the space domain. Today, ASELSAN has in-house capabilities spanning the space value chain, from chip technologies and space-qualified electronics to satellite systems, platforms & payloads, and ground infrastructure.
“IAC 2026 provides an important platform to showcase these capabilities and our growing ambition in space. Our ‘From Chip to Constellation’ vision brings these capabilities together to develop complete, secure and competitive space architectures, while creating new opportunities in international markets.”
ASELSAN has been developing satellite and space technologies since the early 2000s, when it initially focused on satellite ground segments and user SATCOM solutions. Over the past two decades, the company has steadily expanded into space platforms, payloads, and ground control infrastructure to deliver complete architectures tailored to specific mission requirements.
