Tulip Tech has partnered with Tective to enhance the performance of the fully autonomous ReFly drone by integrating Tulip Tech’s advanced Lithium Metal battery technology.
This upgrade extends flight time from 35 minutes to 75 minutes, more than a 100% increase.
The Tective ReFly Drone is a lightweight quadcopter designed for autonomous intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Its compact design and rapid battery swap system, enabling replacements in under a minute, allow for near-continuous operation with minimal downtime.
With Tulip Tech’s Lithium Metal batteries, the ReFly now achieves up to 75 minutes of continuous flight time and a return flight range exceeding 25 kilometers. This provides significantly greater operational reach for complex surveillance tasks.
Lithium Metal, the latest battery chemistry utilized by Tulip Tech, is transforming the possibilities of energy storage. It enables higher voltages for more efficient operation and offers extremely high energy density per kilogram.
However, these battery cells are challenging to handle and require specific conditions to unlock their full potential. Tulip Tech’s team has developed innovative methods to overcome these challenges, delivering batteries that are both powerful and reliable for demanding drone missions.
