Tulip Tech has extended the flight time of the tactical drone DeltaQuad Evo, after recent advances in the company’s battery technology.
Leveraging innovative high-energy lithium metal batteries, which feature an impressive energy density of 450 Wh/kg, Tulip Tech has extended the flight time of the DeltaQuad Evo drone to over 8 hours.
Flight Testing
In a recent long-distance test, the DeltaQuad Evo flew for 8 hours and 55 seconds, covering a distance of 500 kilometers. Despite heavy rain and crosswinds reaching 22 knots, the DeltaQuad Evo completed its mission with ample battery reserve.
The latest field test additionally confirmed that Tulip Tech’s battery technology performs optimally outside of the laboratory.
The longer flight time of the DeltaQuad Evo presents new possibilities for missions where range, endurance, and continuity are crucial. This includes:
- Long-distance missions without intermediate interruptions
- Observation and reconnaissance in agriculture, infrastructure inspections, and defense
- Situations where battery swaps are difficult, time-consuming, or impractical
By using the battery more efficiently, drone operators can better plan their missions, minimize breaks, and cover larger areas.
