UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía, a specialist in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems for UAS platforms, will participate in XPONENTIAL from May 20–22 in Houston, Texas, Booth 3733.
The company will present advances in autonomous capabilities, GNSS-denied navigation, and collaborative operations such as swarm flights and manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T).
Visitors to the UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía booth will be able to review recent updates to its flight control system, including functionality for manned-unmanned teaming and coordinated swarm or formation operations.
These capabilities support the development of more complex and interconnected unmanned aviation. One recent example is a series of test flights by PRIMOCO UAV SE, demonstrating swarm operations directed from a manned aircraft.
Miguel Angel de Frutos, CTO of UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía, commented, “XPONENTIAL represents a perfect platform to demonstrate to the industry the reasons our systems are present in real operations every day. The reliability and robustness of our solutions is not a promise; it is a proven reality in demanding operational conditions. Customers trust us because they know that we are by their side, not only with what they need today but anticipating the challenges to come.”
UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía takes a comprehensive approach to development, with a strong R&D focus on navigation technologies for GNSS-denied environments. Its autopilots include an in-house Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), developed after years of research to enable precise inertial navigation. This dead reckoning capability is supported by the AI-based VNS01 system, designed to reduce inertial drift.
Miguel Ángel de Frutos added, “This is essential in scenarios where aircraft face jamming or spoofing attacks and cannot rely on GNSS positioning. Our systems have been tested by specialized military units, demonstrating their ability to continue the mission successfully despite deliberate jamming.”
Part of Grupo Oesía, the Spanish company has over 20 years of experience in the sector. Its participation reflects ongoing involvement with manufacturers of unmanned systems in both military and civil contexts.
With this same Czech customer, UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía has contributed to certifications including EASA SAIL III, NATO STANAG 4703, and the Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC). The company also participates in regulatory efforts, including Design Verification Projects (DVP) for SAIL IV, and collaborates with organizations such as EASA and EUROCAE on the evolution of the European regulatory framework.
XPONENTIAL, which this year included its first European spin-off—also attended by the company—has become one of the major global events in the unmanned vehicle sector. UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía has been a regular exhibitor, using the event to present developments and maintain industry connections.
Meet with UAV Navigation-Grupo Oesía at XPONENTIAL 2025, Booth 3733.
