UAVOS Inc., in partnership with Bayanat, has successfully supported the Mira Aerospace’s High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) mission in the UAE.
UAVOS engineers contributed to the mission by developing and maintaining advanced software for an Earth Observation (EO) payload, playing a crucial role in testing high-altitude surveillance applications.
The mission, launched from Abu Al Abyad Island, demonstrated the capabilities of a cutting-edge OE camera imaging system from the stratosphere, enabling high-resolution day imaging from 15,000m altitude.
With the objective to test a variety of surveillance scenarios, the high-altitude camera was furnished with an array of sophisticated software attributes and delivered exceptional performance.
The advanced software was written by UAVOS to meet the HAPS requirements for high-resolution (103mpx) stratospheric surveillance. The OE camera was augmented with sophisticated image processing with electronic stabilization and object tracking, external GPS/INS integration with real-time target location at multiple ranges across various environments.
Features
- High-resolution (103mpx) day imaging from 15,000m stratospheric altitude
- Electronic image stabilization and object tracking for enhanced visual clarity
- Real-time target location through integration with external GPS/INS systems
- AIS receiver integration for ship tracking capabilities
The software, engineered by UAVOS, integrates advanced image processing algorithms, delivering real-time video and high-resolution imagery with minimal latency. Its embedded video processor and optimized Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) profile are tailored to meet the challenges of long-duration stratospheric flights. The inclusion of AIS tracking also allows for maritime surveillance, expanding its utility across different mission profiles.
Aliaksei Stratsilatau, Founder and CEO of UAVOS commented, “UAVOS’ EO camera software is an advanced Earth Observation service designed to capture very high-resolution images and live video from the stratosphere. Our advanced software provides a valuable service to multiple HAPS use cases such as maritime surveillance, border monitoring, mapping, forest fires and emergency response in general”.
