SubC Imaging has secured nearly $500,000 in funding from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to develop a new underwater inspection system.

The funding, matched by SubC Imaging’s own investment, will fuel the development of an innovative multi-channel inspection system tailored for Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), marking a pivotal advancement in underwater inspection capabilities.

This cutting-edge system, set to support up to six cameras, promises unparalleled situational awareness by providing comprehensive coverage of subsea environments. By integrating data from diverse sources into a unified platform, including cameras, lights, lasers, and cloud-based infrastructure, SubC Imaging aims to streamline inspections and surveys, catering to the rigorous demands of the offshore energy sector.

Regular inspections of subsea equipment are imperative in the offshore energy sector, often necessitating specialized personnel and multiple inspections. SubC Imaging’s groundbreaking technology seeks to alleviate these challenges, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution for monitoring and inspecting underwater assets.

This announcement comes on the heels of the successful launch of SubC’s pioneering Rayfin Single Channel Inspection system. One of its standout features real-time topside media and data transfer with embedded EXIF, eliminating the need for time-consuming downloads and providing immediate access to critical data.

Chad Collet, CEO of SubC Imaging, said; “We have collaborated with industry experts over the past year to refine our product market and technology strategies.

“With this support, we are well-positioned to lead the charge in advancing ocean technology, leveraging the unique strengths of Newfoundland and Labrador.”
