This robust, precise and safe joystick interfaces to all Spectre autopilots. It gives a very fine degree of control as it talks directly to the autopilot.
Users can bring even a large patrol boat into the dock with inch perfect precision. The same joystick is just as useful for small survey craft, including very agile craft, which respond very quickly.
One of the most important features of any kind of joystick device is that it must not go out of control if fumbled or dropped. The Dynautic’s joystick features a magnetic ‘dead man’s handle’ which is hung around the user’s neck, if at any stage it is dropped this will be pulled off and will automatically and immediately stop the vessel.
The effective range of the joystick is typically about 400m. It has been used at up to 2km away but up to 400m will give reliable control.
