Alva Industries provides a detailed step-by-step guide to using TorqStudio, outlining how engineers can create, evaluate, and manage electric motor designs within a single integrated software environment. Read more >>
Alva’s recently launched TorqStudio software suite for electric motor design and analysis, supports early-stage development through custom design generation, performance evaluation, and quotation requests. The platform allows users to create fully manufacturable motor designs, analyze performance at defined operating points, compare results with Alva’s standard motor portfolio, and export detailed analysis data.
Within the Create Motors module, users define the motor’s outer diameter and axial length to generate optimized, manufacturable designs using analytical motor models developed entirely by Alva. The software produces thousands of potential motor configurations and presents the most efficient solutions in a motor constant versus motor mass trade-off plot. Selected designs can be saved along with all available stator winding configurations for further analysis.
The Analyze Motors module evaluates motor behavior under defined electrical and thermal conditions, providing speed-torque maps, operating limits, efficiency data, current waveforms, and detailed performance outputs for each operating point. Results can be exported as a comprehensive Excel report. The Design Database centralizes custom and standard motors, enabling users to review specifications, download datasheets, reopen designs, and submit requests for quotation directly within TorqStudio.
